Your parent's & yr husband's eye colour factor in... I tried to find the chart for u on the net but didn't.

the odds are 1 to 4 = blue

Note: to all u nay sayers.... certainly eye colour wld not matter to a mother.... but inquiring minds want to know... this question sent me back to biology texts and now I want to know for sure.... stimulating, isn't it?

You'd have to look at your in-laws eyes to know if it's even possible at all. Green eyes are recessive, so it will always be hidden by a brown eyed gene. The question is whether your husband has 2 brown genes or one brown and one blue or green (green and blue are both recessive). If he only has one brown gene, then each child would have a 50% chance of having green/blue eyes. If he has two brown genes, unfortunately I don't think it's possible for a child to have green eyes.

(In my case, I have brown eyes, but one parent with brown, and one with blue, so I know I have one of each kind of gene. My husband has green eyes so our children have a 50/50 chance for either color - my son has my husband's green eyes)

I bet you could get lost in your children's eyes no matter their color though. Looking into the sweet eyes of your child is one of life's great blessings and you'll love them no matter their color.

Green is a double recessive gene. It could be quite a while. One in 4 is your odds but green eyes without some other color around the edges is pretty rare. Most have some brown or blue in the green.

That's a Punnet Square just to let you know. And it shows that none of your children will have green eyes, but that is just scientific. There is always a possibility.

Well it depends on your husband's genotype for brown eyes (usually brown is dominant i think)
If green eyes is recessive and brown dominant, then there would be either a 25% chance of a green eyes kid, or none, depending on if your husband is homozygous or heterozygous.

Of course, there's probably a bunch of other factors too.

there is no way to tell that but since your husband has brown eyes which is a stronger gene then green all your kids might have brown eyes or you might get lucky and have a child with Hazel eyes(brown/green)

depends if you are GG or Gg and if he is BB, Bb, or Bg. So could be 50-75% chance of Brown. But I was the firstborn and have blue eyes, 2 sisters have brown. So Your First-Born Could Get Lucky and Have Light Eyes.

I also have green eyes and my ex wife has brown, and our only child together( girl ) has my eye color, but I don't know because your situation is reversed of mine, it's probably just a matter of rolling the dice.
