"What is freedom? Freedom is the right to choose: the right to create for yourself the alternatives of choice. Without the possibility of choice and the exercise of choice a man is not a man but a member, an instrument, a thing."

The freedom came from after you "had" the restriction/exploitation. If the world don't have the restriction/exploitation issue, spreading the idea of any type of freedom will be meaningless and worrisome.

Freedom to most normal people is the right to do as they please within reason, on their own property without hinderance. To the abnormal nanny staters/bleeding hearts p.c. brigade, its the right to penalise the normal thinking people for their intolerance to muggers, burglars, junkies, and p.c. pratts. who insist on depriving we normal folk of our long established proven way of life. To me there are 2 options, when in Rome do as the Romans do, or, if you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen. Come on you nanny/p.c idiots please reply with a genuine excuse to have it your weird way.

It is a very complex term. But you can compare it to a health: you don't value it until you loose it.
