Good Question, I particularly don't like it when I see little kids pretending to be Naruto, it really frusterates me. The kids don't see the real concept, all the see is cool people fighting bad guys. It got even worse when the english sub came out for the kids on cartoon network, The switch all the words to make them say different stuff than the original, then they cut out seens they might think to "violent" wich aren't that bad. Inuyasha and Naruto are Awsome!!!

Actually, Naruto, Inuyasha, even Bleach, Rurouni Kenshin, and a number of anime that have been shown on CartoonNetwork ARE and WERE meant for children, actually. They were created in Japan as shows for children, they are considered childrens shows in Japan, and they only seem like they are meant for teens due to the subject content and violence that happens to be in them. That's largely due to the fact that Japanese television is more lenient then American broadcasting rules and the content isn't really considered bad for children.

Shounen Jump, in which these anime started as manga in is a magazine for young boys shounen in japanese being a young/youth boy.

So.. these shows were meant for children although they made it to be intersting to older watchers as well. [of course there is nothing wrong with teens and up people watching them ^^]

But as for why alot in the US watch it is due to the timeslot. Especially for Naruto. It's aimed for kids and teens in the timeslot that it airs. They didn't lisense this expensive series to put on TV and only target a certain audience. They did so to entertain children, tweens and teens and so fourth. Business strategy to gain the most money out of it.

Hope that cleared it up for you.

It comes on during children timeslots for the most part.

Naruto, which was dub/edited to hell by Viz Media, was watered down for kids and preteens to watch. Naruto was meant for everybody, its mindless entertainment for the most part.

InuYasha, which was another show from Viz Media, was originally aired after Toonami, so the Toonami audience(kids and preteens) could still watch InuYasha before they go to bed at let's say, 11:30 at night.

That's how I see it anyways.

well, maybe because they're put on cartoon network..which kids probably watch. They end up seeing an episode and they get interested, they keep watching then they're addicted lol. Sure they might be meant for teens, but i dont think that they're meant only for teens.

its the parents fault cuz they dont monitor what their children are watching in addition the english version seems to call out to them with their bad voice overs and corny comedy scenes
