I've watched so many family members take their last breath and its so peaceful I got to say my goodbyes and now know what to expect.I'm not scared to die why are so many people afraid of it?

I agree. We all know that death is a part of life. We know that we will all die. But when somebody passes, we are devastated. Even though we will be joining them down the road. It's something we all do.

Because of the fear of the unknown, what happens next, If anything, well it scares me. And how exactly I'm gonna die ... no one wants to die a horrible painful death it's not always in your sleep and peaceful.

Because 'Death' is one of those things where changing your mind doesn't qualify as an option. Most people I've met can't figure out what they'd want for breakfast, and that might extend to what, about an hour? And now you want decisions of eternal magnitude to be made unafraid?

The same reason that some fear the dark and some don't....some have a fear of spiders and some don't....some are afraid of death and some are not.....some are afraid to live and some embrace it and love it, no matter how rough things can be.

I think people just fear the unknown. Many people I know are scared of where they are going to go when they die.

I don't know. I'm not afraid of dying, I'm afraid of suffering. Death itself doesn't bother me. I just don't want to deal with suffering before I die. I want my death to be quick!

They are scared of the unknown and probably of having to be without the one that they have just lost.

'cause i don't know what's gonna happen. i believe we go to heaven, but what's it like? and what does it feel like to die, and what will i miss? that's why i'm afraid. (my mom's a nurse and sees people die a lot, and she's still afraid)

i am. it's because we're scared of the unknown. there's a certain peace i find when i know exactly what will happen. sometimes, i like not knowing what will happen but not usually.

i think its because of the unknown- no body really knows what its like for sure so its more or less left up to our imagination to think what might happen and that is a little scary
