Does anyone know of a good, somewhat short, monologue that I could use in my high school theater class?

Your best bet are two books by Woody Allen, yes the director, he started out as a sketch writer and his works though decades old still work, also check out books by the actor Steve Martin, and if you don't mind going back several decades, then check out Robert Benchley who was a writer performer humorist. If you truly don't mind ancient history, then good old Mark Twain has many gems, but suspecting you are a modern child, getting back to the 21st Century, check out Joe Queenan humorist and author, and also Dave Berry of Florida fame and basis for a Harry Anderson television series. All of the above can supply comedic monologues that will amuse your audience.

Peace.......

Try a monologue from the play, "Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley. It's like Steel Magnolias in that it's a comedy/drama, but the former has more comedic monologues.

I took a comedic monologue from this show to competition and did very well. If you have a very dry sense of humor, the monologue about Babe shooting her husband is a great idea to use.
