No one will agree 100% whether to spank or not.
Actually, it all depends on the kids.. some just giving them
the evil eye starts them crying.. and some would do
stuff to egg you on till you spank them...
I say use it as a last resort a very last resort..

Spanking should be used only as a last resort. Spanking probably should'nt be used past the ages of 3 or 4.What I did with my son was 4 swats. The first 3 were not hard enough to cause much disconfort, more just to show a little humiliation for having to be spanked and then the 4th swat to have a little 'sting' to it.to make sure that he 'got the point' I do think spanking is appropiate. bcause at an early age it's the only thing they can understand. If they cry after being spanked, it should not be from any pain. but from just knowing that they had to be disaplined.

good question. I have no idea. I think spanking is necessary to teach kids that if they do something bad then they get something bad in return. On the other hand, it is necessary for parents to not take spanking out of control. Just enough to make the childs bottom hurt, but nothing too serious that could cause hate towards the parents or any damage.

My parents had no trouble making up there minds. They spanked me when ever i stepped out of line.

It is going to be debated forever because some parents agree spanking is right and some believe spanking is wrong.
Personally I think more kids these days need spankings and the kids of the parents that don't spank should be spanked by someone else.

And why do all parents need to come to a consensus?
Do what is right for you and your family. I was lucky, I never needed to spank mine, other means of discipline always worked.

my gandpa used a belt on my dad 4 spanking. and hes still alive and loves his dad.
i got spanked by those plastic stiring spoons, hard. and i lived.
and i dont hate my dad at all.
i say parents who think spanking thier kids is abuse are softer than a baby's bottom.
you WANT your kids to not think they are equal to you,
YOU are the parent, you know whats best.
anyone who has a problem with that can argue with me later.

I spank only when they really need it. you should never spank under 3. They have no idea yet what they are doing is wrong.
