I am an Italian-American and we live in Italy and baby will grow up and go to school in Italy. I need boy and girl names that are easy to spell and say in both English and Italian. PLEASE HELP! It's impossible to find a boy name especially.

Girl: Amanda, Sofia, Anna, Maria, Sabrina, Jessica, Monica, Talia
Boys: Marco, Antonio, Gianni, Corrado, Alfio, Augusto, Attilio

just to mention the firsts (both English or Italian) that came in mind. Common English names as Marc, Anthony, John, are well known in Italy, they're not going to raise spell issues.

May cause some problem (still thinking about how they sound in both languages) Giuseppe (English speaking people often spell it "Guiseppe") or Andrea, since in Italy is a male name (although we're now used to know, because of TV :), in the rest of the world is female) while in English is female.

Gianni - Italian form of John. God is gracious.
Giulio - A Roman family name, possibly meaning youthful. Born in July.

What about Antonio? That's easy enough, a very strong boy's name and he can either go by Anthony, Tony, or just Antonio. Silvio isn't bad either. Leonardo, Luciano, both nice!

Girl names: Serena- very pretty, Aria, also pretty.

Girl names are harder to come by (at least what I like) Hopefully that gives you a little start....

Being Italian I can tell you that a common boy's name is Carmine, Carmen, or Carmelo. Of course in America, Carmen is especially a latina name. My dad's name is Carmen. Most of the boys in our family are named after our grandfather; his name was Cologero. To americanize the name, we use Charles.

A name for girls is Angela or Angelina. Other common names for girls are Maria, Marie, and Mary.

I've always like Dante.
There are sites online where you can look up names by origin.
