Palmers coco butter for stretch marks works wonders. It keeps them from forming and makes the ones you have less visible.
Good luck

It may or may not. There is absolutely no guarantee that you are not going to get them. It is mainly a genetic issue (take a look at your mum's tummy!).
As a rule of thumb, I would stay away from commercial lotions and moisturizers. So many of them contain unpleasant and harmful chemicals it makes me wonder if putting toxins on my body to prevent a few stretch marks (badges of honour!) is worth it.
Try your local health food store and look for all-natural moisturizers - if you can pronounce all the ingredients, it's probably a safer bet! But, becareful of essential oil content, some are contraindicated during pregnancy.
Organic, cold-pressed oils are also a good option for those who want a light moisturizer. Almond, apricot kernel, sunflower, sesame are all quickly absorbed and mostly scentless.
Pure coconut oil, cocoa butter (mmm, smells like chocolate...) and shea butter are excellent. They can be expensive, but buy the best you can afford as they are very rich. A little dab goes a long way.
Another fool-proof moisturizer is breaking a vitamin E capule and adding it to the oil you are using.
Most important of all, moisturize from the inside out! Make sure you are getting your Omega 3 (flax, hemp, fish body oil) and drinking lots of water.
Best wishes!

Nope. It may help with the itching, but if you're going to get stretch marks, you're going to get them, even if you spend the next 9 months in a vat of cocoa butter. If your mother has a lot, you'll probably have a lot too. My stretch marks are in the same pattern as my mom's - it looks like a large cat scratched both of us on the stomach. Weird.

I used the coco butter everyday during pregnancy, and have the worst stretch marks I have ever seen. I talked to the doctor and he said it just depends on how well your skin can stretch as to weather or not you get them. There is no amount of cream you can use to keep it from happening if you are prone to get them then you will....

I've seen people spend a fortune on lotions and not hasve them work but some people swear by them.
I used olive oil on my belly every night from the minute I found out and not a single mark! (and I'm prone to strech marks!)
But hey, they're badges of honour for carrying a precious little baby, be proud of being a mom!

They don't... I only gained 7 pounds in pregnancy and I was putting on the concentrated cream for stretch marks twice a day, and I still got them on my hips and breasts. If your mother have them, you will most likely get them, too.

Not really. A better bet is drinking 12 glasses of water daily and keeping your weight gain between 25-35 lbs.
However, if you do want to use omething tpical, use ex. virgin olive oil after soaking in the tub for 30 minutes.

Coco butter worked for my sister but not for me. My belly looked like it was on fire with the flames shooting up.
