Love is selfless not selfish. No the world is not all about satisfaction and survival. That is a very small minded view. It is about working toward the good of humanity, for helping others and caring. While many people in the United States live in what is considered at or below poverty level, consider how others in developing countries would feel if they had what poverty stricken Americans have. We have it all here. If you have enough money for a roof over your head, groceries and can pay the utility bills, you should be satisified and can survive. Its not about you, its about how you help others.

Their is an element that is skipped over in the thinking behind this question.
The satisfaction of loving someone with the intimacy going deeper than the flesh. Emotional intimacy is the highest of highs when it is mutual. Adoring each other and working thru the pains and troubles life brings is the most satisfying element I can think of. The emotional intimacy, in any type of relationship creates joy that nothing else can. The idea of life without love sounds like death to me.

The feeling i describe as "love" begins as a response to a mental signal. Everything begins in our mind. I have this theory that "love" is really very simple. "We love the thing(s) that give us what we want". That's it. So, "love" has everything to do with everything.

Love is nothing and everything. Love can cause you to sacrifice yourselves, but love also can cause you to kill.
Love can drive you to pursue their best life, but love also can ruin your life.
Love can make your life like heaven on earth, but love can take you faster to feel hell.
So then what is love? If I know I would tell you my friend, but unfortunately I also don't know. I just follow it, when it comes.
