Help?

I've lost a stone in 2 months,
I'm still in the healthy weight range for my height (5" 4 and 117lbs)
I'm young (teens)
I'm not pregnant,
I'm not on Birth Control,
I don't have a Thyroid problem
and I don't think I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).

Any ideas on why periods might have stopped? I can't go to the doctors, only possible to tell school nurse (or teacher or something).

Thanks and please no useless/rude comments!

I usually have really regular periods, 26-day cycle for 4 years. Always the same, it's not hideously late, but I know my body and I've got the feeling telling me it's just not going to come.

How do you work out your Body Fat Percentage, and what's a healthy %?

how old are you? sometimes the younger you are your periods can be erratic.
also it is "normal" to lose a period if you've dropped rapid weight, and especially if there is a possibility of stress, either mentally or physically. Still a good idea to see a Dr when you can though. Our health is important.

It's terrific you achieved those results but you;'e given no indication as to your age AND you are certainly the exception. Releasing weight is accomplished by HABIT and if you create new habits and own them, then you see the results. What you did was most likely very unhealthy as the human body reacts very poorly to such a drastic change in diet and calorie intake. You are also talking about a time frame of just under three months. it will be interesting to see if you remain as committed and successful by Jan 1, 2010, April 10, 2010 and on and on. Most people are not and the rapid weight loss is then replaced by 'making up' for self-starvation and the weight comes back on. More power to you!

It's probably just late... or it could have something to do with your weight loss.

I'd definitely recommend going to the doctor if it hasn't come for like 3 months though.

you may not have enough body fat. you may have lost so much weight in a period of time and there just trying to get used to it. Also if you do sports or take some type of medication it may effect it. OR after the first time you`ve had sex.

You didn't say how long it had been since you had your period. It is possible to skip a month every now and again, your cycle can fluctuate over time. If you skip again next month I would figure out a way to go to the doctor.

this happens when your body is under stress. if your period does not come back in three months, it means your body fat/weight is too low despite what the standard weights are. you'll need to see a gynocologist then.
