I would be afraid if I ran into someone who did look like me!
I believe the root of racism and discrimination may very well be fear to a certain extent. Fear of the unknown or something that goes against what you do know or believe or have been taught. Generally kids do notice differences between people...but they have to be "taught" that the differences are a bad thing when actually differences aren't really good or bad...they are just different ... which makes things more interesting. I believe teaching and mis-guided "knowledge" is the basis for racism and discrimination against anything...even technology.

No. I think I would be more afraid if they look like me. I would think I was being cloned or something. Maybe like the movie the body snatchers. Thats just the way I think.
I don't think people are neccesary scare because of the way a person looks but more of what they represent. If you look at some medieval pictures, the demons where depicted with big noses like the Jews. this is because at the time the church wanted to convince people that Jews where evil. So, when someone saw a person with a suspicious looking nose then they would think they where evil. The logic is faulty because Jesus was a Jew. Well, at least from that part of the world so by that logic he should be evil too right. So, yeah fear and ignorance is the cause of racism and or any other type of discrimination.

Seriously - I embrace differences and always have. Life is too short to spend it hating people. I think the root of racism comes from uneducated people with poor self esteem. They have to have a group of people they can feel superior to - and they do this by labeling a group as inferior. That is a sad way to live.

Am I afraid of them.......no...ofcourse not...why should I be afraid of them in our day and age we all have seen ever type of race each with it's own beauty.

To fear difference is of course ignorance.
We should fear nothing but a power that can create a
Universe.

Unless they have a knife in their hand and are headed my way, I'm not afraid of anyone, regardless of looks.

Racism is often misconstrued for generalizations that stems from earlier experiences.
For instance, a white person mugs a black girl. Black girl ends up hating whites.
Also, the black girl may like to eat poop.

I'm not afraid, but then again I'm not racist. I think that racist people are ignorant and fear what they do not know.
