What are some ways for a young teenage girl to appear confident, without appearing conceited and stuck up?
When meeting an important person(whom you are very nervous to meet, and HAVE to make an impression on..), how can you appear calm, cool, confident, and collected?(without over-doing it!) i know to 'just be yourself' but i'd like some tips on what you think makes a person look confident and comfortable in their own skin..

Humility. Realizing that you are just a person in a body, no worse or better than anyone else. Using that humility to help others in need. Finding ways to be compassionate to your fellow humans. The most arrogent people often have the lowest self-esteem. They prop themselves up to be bigger, but they deal with it crashing from time to time. Just be a simple, humble person, no better, no worse than anyone else, realistic. If you can maintain that inner humility and have no expectations about meeting that important person, you can avoid doing anything that makes you look foolish. Whatever happens, happens. Do not think about any result of the meeting and do not equate any emotional response to any result. You are just a person in a body and all things are temporary. If you make the results into something big and important, you can be crushed by failure. You can become too cocky with success, which will sabotage you in the future. What's important today will often be not important 5 years down the line. Take it all in stride and don't get worried.

Saint-Toad has said it well-- especially liked "person in a body"
By knowing who you REALLY are--- eternal spirit soul-- you become less attached to so many temporary things.... like people's impressions of you, succeeding in mundane ways etc. When you no longer have the NEED to have things turn out exactly like you want, you can relax and actually do a better job anyway.
There are no persons who are more important than anyone else. If you remember this, and treat each person equally--- knowing that God resides within the heart of each and every living entity-- then you will not freeze up, thinking one person's opinion matters more than another's. You will do what you do in the confidence of 'walking in the light'--- with humble love for all.
Can't lose!

the line isn't skinny in any respect. Narcissism is a psychological venture, a protection mechanism, for people who truly have not have been given any shallowness or self assurance. They submit a fascade and attempt to make up for what they lack. self assurance is having a certainty based self image and believing in your self. appears like your buddy is a narcissist if she feels the would desire to tell the full international on the information superhighway how great she is
