...you go to the grocery store (or wherever) and the girl scouts have a table of cookies set up in a place where you CAN'T avoid passing it so you're forced to say "No" to cute little girls? I already bought enough from the girls in my neighborhood!

I do find that to be quit annoying, my daughter is a girl scout, so we deal with the crap every year, and we do buy some of course. So when we go to Walmart and there is a table there with little kids selling cookies, I almost feel like avoiding that door as I enter, (because at this point I am sick of girl scout cookies), but then I think, why should I walk all the way around to avoid some little kids, so I go in the door I first chose,(nearest my car, of course), and snub the kids angrily as I walk by.

Just say 'No Thank You'. It shouldn't hurt their feelings. There's a lot of people who want to buy them and setting up in front of a store is the only way for some people to buy them. These girls are just trying to earn a little money to help them get to camp, or go on a field trip or something. Something a lot of these girls wouldn't get to do otherwise.

I asked them if they sold "Boy Scout Cookies" & they looked at each other, then looked at me like huh? One of them said:
"No, but if you eat the cookies from the green box they are just as good as Boy Scout cookies!" that was too cute to pass up....so I bought 2 boxes!

No, they're just trying to earn some money for troop activities. They're usually just fine with you saying something like "I already bought quite a few from my neighbor/daughter/student, but good luck!"

I have no problem with any young people trying to make some money in sales projects with groups. It's a good way to see if they like sales or not. It's easy enough to smile, wish them good luck, and decline, if I don't care to buy their product at the time.

I'm much more irritated by homeless people begging for money outside the grocery store (and then refusing the offer of food or just tossing it after you give it to them because they just wanted money) or people trying to clean my windshield when I don't want it cleaned, etc. Or drivers who are in too much of a hurry to be polite and safe when they drive. Or people who cut right in front of you when you're in line, etc. Those people are annoying. I don't get annoyed with kids doing sales (or collecting for drives.)

Will you buy some from me then? Samoas, Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Cafe Cookies, All Abouts, Little Brownies, and Trefoils. $3.50/box. $28 dollars for 8 boxes. Please? LOL. I'm a girl scout, but we finished selling already. Wanna buy anyway?

I hate/love it. Like with the Salvation army. I give a generous donation the first time and then I feel like they are staring me down for another. I hate that. However, with Girl scouts, I like to know that they are there because no one ever hits my house!

I used to feel really guilty but now I just say "on my way out" b/c who wants to carry a cookie box around a store? or I say "I don't have cash" which is also motly true since I use my debit card a lot instead of carrying cash :o)

Yea, I know what you mean. They did that at the Walmart I go to. I had to say "NO" this is the first year in about 10 years that I have not purchased some. Trying to stay away from sweets.
