I being Hindu by birth, and atheist by choice, don't believe that Islam is in conflict with other religions.

If you see history then each religion tried to eliminate other religion. In Hinduism there is caste system. Catholic rulers tried to wipe out native religions in north and south America, Africa. Islamist rulers tried the same by wiping out other religions like Christianity, Hinduism etc.

Religion is only a way to group our believes. If you study Islam then it again divides into many other sub-religions some of which like sufism are in high conflict with say sunni ideology.

Overall if you see then Islam has many qualities like other religions.

If you're more specific in topics which you find are in conflict with other religion then it'll be helpful to search for a better answer.

For there to be any conflict you have to have 2.
The majority of Muslims live similar to the majority of Christians
There will always be a few radical religious nuts like George Bush that attack another religion, directly or not.
The demonizing of Islam continues to be sad, worst than any antisemitism you can find.
You have to treat the moderates fairly or it will get worse

it's true that islam always has a conflict with other religion but as i know, all the conflicts not started by muslim such as in iraq, india, between zionis and islam in palestine. you should ask why other religions like to attack, kill and insult muslims.

Because the beliefs of islam are in sharp contrast to the beliefs of other religions.

If you believed that you would go to heaven for killing an islam. I mean if you truly believed that and so did all of your family and all of your friends, and then all of the sudden islamic troops invaded your country and toppled your government and passed restriction over what your country could or could not do.

I bet you'd grab yourself a gun and go start shooting...

All religions have conflicts with others. its actually the people who take things too literally or the wrong way who cause the conflict. everyone who is like that should be slapped and told to grow up

It does not, as a rule .

But.

It is the power hungry leaders(any and all nations and religion) that upset the peace and take advantage of uninformed / ill informed young and old and in between people of all ages, by misdirecting and misguiding them, most religions forbids suicide. yet!

Why did Hindu's fight SIkhs?
Why did Christians fight each other?

Why do people fight over religion?

Probably because its great excuse to motivate people for the selfish gain of the few.
