I was assigned the project to find a way to bring peace to the whole Israel/Palestine problem. I am thinking that i will do a painting to illustrate peace, but what should i do a painting of? The reqirements are that the painting must provide a specific resolution to the conflict. So i cant just paint a picture of bombs and war or whatever, i have to paint something that describes a way to SOLVE the problem. What should i paint?

Let all of the palastinians strap bombs to themselves, and depict themselves blowing themselves up against eachother.

It is peaceful, for:
A) The palastinians can go to their heaven and be happy,
B) Israel can exist peacefully,
and there is no conflict.

How can anyone remotely think of a way to bring an end to this conflict, other than what you have already mentioned. You can represent Bible Prophecy or the way the human heart thinks. According to Bible Prophecy, God will destroy all of the Palestinians and bring everyone to their knees that lay a hand on Israel. So, may I suggest the only true way this can be displayed, so that everyone can understand is to illustrate peace use a blue sky with a few clouds and a somewhat large dove (this represents peace) over looking the Temple Mount in Jerusalem (this is where Jesus will return the second time) This is where I, personally would stop because this is what God would won't. You can take it a step further and stretch the wing span over the Gaza Strip, this includes the Palestinians. This will satisfy potentially everyone, because in the human heart that belongs to God would like to see everyone saved, but we know that is not going to happen because, man has an evil heart & wickedness lurkes about!
Good Luck and May God Bless You, while you try to accomodate the unthinkable...

One (not THE only) of the things that is needed for real peace is ecnomical freedom; a real standard of living that enables all people to live in dignity. Of course, it's hard to let that happen when people use working papers to get into places where they detonate bombs, but the only lasting peace would be one that includes a recognition of interdependency of economics between the two peoples. That's something you could paint--a community of productive workers of different clothing, coloring, and so on.
To make it accurate: many Palestinians have blue or hazel eyes; and many Jewish Israelis have lighter skin/hair.

This idea came to me today, this morning actually.
I had a picture in my mind of Jerusalem with half of it (the east) was populated by Arabs and the western half by Jews.
In the middle was the Ark of the covenant coming out of hiding (underground) and destroying the Arabs with its power.
I do not see Israel or the Arabs as the ones to bring about peace in such a hostile and closely confined area when they disagree on such important and basic fundamentals.
I do not see war. I do see a protector for the people of Israel.
