I listen to hear if the workmen are working on my living room remodelling, or if my husband has some early morning company. (Some neighbors do come for coffee, some mornings.)
And I look out my window, trying to guess what the weather is like. Is it sunny or rainy?
Finally, I try to remember what it is that was on my list of things to do in the morning. Just checking everything before I stir.

If it's a work day I usually wake up screaming "OH GOD!!! NO PLEASE!!!LET ME SLEEP!!" If it's a weekend I stretch out on the bed like a contented cat, look at the clock, and depending whether I have plans for the day or not I usually think "I can do whatever I want today...hmmmm...what will it be??" and go back to sleep and have GOOD dreams.

Well if it isn't a weekday or a day I don't have to go to school than I usually think sweet I don't have to do anything today. If it is a school day, then I think oh crap morning already i hate school.

I love to watch the sunrise, think about perking coffee, and then I decide what I will be doing during the day.

my first thoughts when the alarm goes off are usually 'urg - is it that time already', shortly followed by 'oh cr*p, i have a ton of stuff to do to get me & my son out of the house on time'. (and there's also the automatic though of 'i must go pee'..... lol)
