You're probably afraid because your friend got hurt. Try to figure out what went wrong with that. Did he do something wrong or was it something else like with the jump itself? The best way to get over any kind of fear is the face it. But, if something is wrong with the jump itself that caused the accident, then you can fix it to prevent it from happening again.

The way to fight fear is with knowledge. Fear is a natural response to being not in control of the situation. Any situation that you can't control is risky and fear is a good safety mechanism.
So don't blame the fear, blame the lack of knowledge. Your friend got hurt, why? Is it because the ramp is dangerous? Did he make a mistake and do you know better? Do you know specifically what is required to navigate the ramp safely? Do you know what it takes to build a good ramp or a safe ramp? How does one judge that?
Professionals don't get scared because they are knowledgeable, so that is what you must do.

i heard something about mental conditioning. it's to analyze the cause and association of the fear, then to disturb the pattern with other feeling whenever you feel fear.
Lets say, if you are afraid of height, try associate Paris Hilton whenever you feel the fear.
If you do it correctly, Eventually height will means Paris Hilton to you.
If you screw up, then Paris Hilton will means height.
I am not joking, these kind of stuff exist. It depends on your determination for it to work.

I'd usually say, "just do it" when referring to someone's goals or ambitions. In your case, however, this sounds a little unsafe to me. I'd say that your "fear" could possibly save your life. This doesn't sound like something that HAS to be done, so why don't you reconsider and just leave it alone? Best wishes to you, either way.
Peace,
Cherish

One way is to gradually build up to the point you can do the jump. Do lots of smaller, safer types of jumps and slowly work your way up.
