From January 1945 Hitler never left the chancellery in Berlin or its bunker, abandoning a plan to lead a final resistance in the south as the Soviet forces closed in on Berlin. In a state of extreme nervous exhaustion, prematurely senile if not insane, he at last accepted the inevitability of defeat and thereupon prepared to take his own life, leaving to its fate the country over which he had taken absolute command. Before this, two further acts remained. Around the midnight of April 28-29 he married Eva Braun. Immediately afterward he dictated his political testament, justifying his career and appointing Karl Dönitz as head of the state and Josef Goebbels as chancellor.
On April 30 he said farewell to Goebbels and the few others remaining, then retired to his suite and either shot or poisoned himself. His wife took poison. In accordance with his instructions, their bodies were burned.

Well, first, it was the Soviet Union that was about to take Berlin (Capital of Germany, and where Hitler was). So Hitler was worried about the Soviets more than the Americans catching him. The Americans did get to Germany, although they were not in Berlin until AFTER the war.
Hitler married Eva Braun a few hours before he committed suicide.
His exact method of committing suicide is unknown even today, although he was known to have had cyanide pills which he tested on a dog (although yes, as people say, he did love animals).
It has been said by high ranking officials within the Nazi government however that Hitler did indeed shoot himself and Braun had no apparent gunshot wounds, suggesting she took the pills. Their bodies were later burned.
The remains were of course never found.
If you want to know more about his final hours, I recommend the German movie Downfall.

Firstly America never invaded Germany, they help liberate Europe from Nazi tyranny. There has been numerous interviews with the radio operator that was working in Hitlers Berlin bunker (no cliffs any where to be found) towards the end of April 1945. he claims that two shots were fired after Hitler and Eva Braun (His Wife) entered a side room. The Russians claimed to have both there charred bodies, but thanks to the cold war there has never been any evidence to support this. I personnaly doubt it
Yes there have beeen claims of poison but theres no proof
After note:
Not quite sure how you can give this answer a thumbs down as it is factually correct, but i'll gladly read yours.
I once read an artcle regarding a senior soviet officer who claimed to be in charge of the partry that took 'Hitlers' remains back to Moscow. He stated that there were doubts over the bodys identity because it had darned socks on.

Adolf Hitler and his wife Eva Braun committed suicide in the bunker on April 30,1945, the day after they were married .Adolf Hitler took a pistol and shot himself and Eva Braun took cyanide. Their bodies were gasolined and burned
but not enough as they were reportedly discovered as burned but not completely enough as not to be recognized. There is a rumor of a part of Hitler's skull in Moscow with a hole in the skull where Hitler had shot himselfbut there is a possibility that this is not true.

Tell your social studies teacher that it was the Russians that invaded Germany, and fought the Battle of Berlin when Hitler and his girlfriend, Eva Braun, committed suicide in a Berlin underground bunker. They either took cynide or shot themselves. Neither body was found because the bunker was burnt on order of Hitler before he killed himself. At that time, the Germans and Russians were involved in one of the deadliest battles of WW II, the Battle of Berlin, in which over a million Germans and a million Russian soldiers died. It was the last massive battle in WWII in Europe.

Hitler simultaneously bit open a cyanide capsule while shooting himself in the head. Eva Braun (whom he'd just married) bit into a cyanide capsule.
The bodies were covered in gasoline by Hitler's aids and burned.
Russia claims to have a fragment of Hitler's skull, although historians have cast many doubts about this.

i've got faith that Adolf Hitler grew to become into extremely clever. additionally your action does not signify your IQ. i concept Adolf Hitler attacking the Soviet Union grew to become right into a good and risky pass, yet I ve examine and discovered lots approximately WWII. curiously the Soviets have been making waiting for a offensive against Nazi Germany. So i assume that grew to become into Adolf Hitler s purely logical selection.

Hitler committted suicide on April 29th with his wife by first taking poison, then shooting himself. The bodies were burned and buried, but digged up by the soviets a few weeks later and reburied on a soviet military ground close to Magdeburg. Finally, in 1970, the bodies were burnt entirely.

well they both took poison and to be sure they shot themselves in the head, Hitler was afraid that because he was old and his hands were shaking, in case he missed his brain (which has happened to other people in the past) the poison would still kill him, so he took both.
as answer for the second question, USA would have got there hands on him because the Russians got to Berlin first. there is a conspiracy that says the Russians founds his body and hid it in a secret location so that the Nazis would continue to fight and that way the Russians would Be able to kill all of them.
they say after his death all of his officers that were present in his place of death and burned him also committed suicide.

Cyanide capsules. Then hitler shot himself to make sure. Their bodies were burned by a pal outside the bunker. He tried the poison on his dog, blondie first. It worked. He was paranoid that the guy who gave him the poison gave him fake stuff, since he'd just betrayed him in a different way.
Great movie called "downfall" about the last hours. It's german.
The russians have the bodies still, what's left of them.
