It takes me a little while to wake up when things happen like doorbells or phone calls in the middle of the night.
I don't know that I would react.
If it was the daytime and I saw them through the peephole I'd probably wet myself. . . I can't imagine how I'd react in the middle of the night if I was awake enough to know what was going on.

Firstly, I would dial 999 ask for the Police to urgently attend my house as I believed that 10 members of the Mafia were standing on my doorstep!
Secondly, I would open an upstairs window & tell them the Polive had been called to Attend to remove them from my property!
Assuming this situation arose within the U.K. where the national average is 7.5 hours for the police to respond to 999 Emergency Calls I would telephone, the owner of a local 'Mobile Hotdog & Burger Bar' suggesting that there was the distinct possibility of catering to those persons laying siege to my home:
