There was one in the 60's, a TV movie version made in the 70's and the new 2007 film.
None of the films are especially historically accurate, at least the new one does not even attempt to be.

There are 2 one came out in the 70's I think and was based on what actually happened and the second is the new one which was based on a comic book which really stylized it making it more fictitious.

And the comic came out in 1998 but no movie

There was a 1962 version caled The 300 Spartans it was shown yesterday (Saturday) on BBC2 (UK).

It's now in my DVD collection, so I can compare it to the new version when I go to see it, shortly I hope.
