Last sunday's dear abby featured a stay at home military wife... the article really got under my skin.
He husband chose to be in the military and she chose to stay at home. Why is she even given the oppurtunity to whine and complain?

yes, I have three kids. I am also an ex-military wife who is now working and raising the three children on my own. I think that all moms have the same job, and that is to raise healthy, thoughtful and intelligent children. Stay at home moms have it the easiest because they have the most time in which to do this. If you'll read the question, you will realize that I do not need to re-read the letter, I do in fact get the point. My point is that at one point in the letter she complained about missing her husband, when she knew when he enlisted, that he would be away for long periods of time. There is no draft, this is something that they entered into vouluntarily. The point of the question is that stay at home moms have it the easiest, why do they get the most chances to complain in the media?

Stay at home moms do NOT have it the easiest. Many women go back to work because they can't handle all the work there is to do taking care of the home and the children, and want an escape. It really is "to each her own" - and I think as women, we should NEVER criticize each other's choices, but support one another in whatever each chooses to do.

Haven;t you ever had something that you chose to do that started upsetting you? Have you complained about it? Of course you have so why are you complaining about someone else complaining. ? You know your question is kind of getting under my skin! (lol...it's not really but come on...why do you care if this woman was complaining?)

By the way I'm a stay at home mom and my husband is military and while we've chosen this life it is sometimes very difficult and if this woman needed to vent then that's her right....just like it was your right to put the paper down and not read it.

She wasn't complaining about being married to a military man, if it's the letter I'm thinking you're referring to. She was complaining about being insulted by someone who lumped her in with a certain segment of people and called them "uneducated and lazy" basically.

I think you missed the point. Reread it.

Edited to add:
I'll never understand why women beat each other up. Single against married. Parents against those without kids. Breastfeeding versus bottle, stay at home versus working moms. I'm a little tired of people taking sides and forming factions and ripping into each other. You don't see men do this. Stop attacking other women. It's brutal, it's unnecessary and it's deterimental to our gender.
