If you like fairy tales at all, I would HIGHLY recommend two books (there are 4 total, but I'm waiting for the paperback edition for the other two) Once upon a Winter's Night and Once upon a Summer's Day both by Dennis McKiernan, they were awesome books. A more involved "Beauty and the Beast" and "Sleeping Beauty".

Try We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. When I was a kid, I literally wore a copy out reading it again and again. You will fall in love with the character Merricat. Pax - C.
