I need to know if there are any interesting sites to see there besides the castle, and the little island in the water. I really am interested in activites that the kids can enjoy as well. We have been there before but many years ago. We are going during the summer so it will be warm. I know about the parasailing and the water events. I reckon I need to know what can be done on land to make a whole week interesting.
What say ye out there. ?

get out and go hiking! Fallen Leaf Lake is nearby and gorgeous. YOu can also go mountain biking at some of the larger ski resorts. Squaw Valley does. Depending on the weekend, if you are there for 4th of july they do fireworks on the lake. The boat ride on the tahoe queen is great.

Or just sit and hang out at Meeks Bay Beach.

Other than just being out side and water sports, Tahoe is very quiet and laid back during the summer.

Lake Tahoe is a perfect place to take the family for a vacation because kids are welcome everywhere in this family friendly community. Once you arrive, you'll finally have time to enjoy all those family outings you never seem to find time to do at home. Sharing simple things like a picnic at the beach, bowling, miniature golf, or seeing a movie together makes for lasting memories and strengthens family ties.

Check out this site, pretty neat for kids. Mom's and Dad's, too. Have a great time!!
