Because people are just plain lazy. Instead of searching it themselves, or even searching the Yahoo Answer records for other occurrences of the same question, it is easier form them to ask it again.
And then, there is the wise cracking attitude of "I must be the first one to ask this, or else I would know already" that we see in the "how come they don't make complete airplane of the same stuff that black boxes are made of" and "if man evolved from apes, how come there are still apes around".
It does get tiring after a while.
And I end up just ignoring them
Next in my list, would be those who's question is "answer this pleeeease!" and it turns out they just want you to do their homework for them -- in some cases, there is a complete 5 pages list of questions, complete with numbered sections and subsection, and a request to "show detail work".

Lazy, I told you.

Yeah, how come nobody asks "why is dirt brown?", or "why is grass green?" It's always the sky color they ask about.
