An 11 or 12 year old child should not be allowed to get her way by displaying an "attitude". How much harder will it get to maintain order in the home when she's 13, 14 or 16 if she's allowed to get her way--no matter how ill-advised--now? Parents are charged with the health and safety of their children, and a child that age doesn't have the maturity to make sound decisions. For the sake of the child and his/her ongoing respect for the parent, we need to take charge and disallow anything that we know is potentially dangerous or fatal. Look up the statistics on mororcylce accidents; ask an insurance agent. Motorcycles are dangerous.

First of all, your daughter is 11 (almost 12) and has a BOYFRIEND who has a motorcycle? That doesn't sound right to me, but anyways. If you know it is dangerous then why do you let her do it? If you are the parent take control of your daughter. She needs to know who is the boss and who is in charge. If you let her get away with this type of stuff, then who knows what else she thinks that she can get away with? Your daughter is comprehending the fact that if she wants something that she knows you wont let her have or do, then all she has to do is annoy you and give an attitude until you cave in? Maybe you should listen to your neighbor...their awful words might not be helpful, but at least they are seeing the full picture here.

Please tell me you are making her wear a helmet at least. To let your daughter have her way because you can't deal with her attitude is not only reckless but irresponsible. She should be doing girly things maybe even talking about boys but certainly not dating, especially an older boy. You must take charge of your home before it is too late. What will you do when you have a grandchild or your daughter gets hurt riding on that motorcycle. You are not her friend you are her mother. Your decisions will not always be popular with her but you MUST tough it out for her own well being. Also the point that I fear the most that no one has mentioned is that the boy is much too young to be driving a motorcycle. Motorcycles are dangerous even with experienced drivers . At 15 or even 16 he is just not experienced enough to handle situations that could arise on a motorcycle. Please for the love of your child protect her. If all the comments on here are not enough to persuade you get on the Internet and research the number of teen related fatal car and motorcycle wrecks. Keep her safe Mommy.

You need to be strong. YOU are the parent. Do not let your child manipulate you or tell you what she can and can't do.
I hope you mean YOUR boyfriend and not her boyfriend. 11 or 12 is a little young to have a boyfriend... a boyfriend with a motorcycle nonetheless. You must be in an area where age of consent is really low. For example, Hawaii age of consent was 14 just a few years ago.
Do you want your child (who's motor skills and logic are still developing) to get hurt because she couldn't hold on tight enough on the motorcycle? And futhermore... do you want your baby to have a baby?

first of all, just because your 11 year old daughter looks older than she is does not mean she should have a boyfriend who has a motorcycle (meaning he's about 16 years or older).
second, why does your 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER have a boyfriend at all?? she probably thinks it's cool to have a MUCH OLDER boyfriend, but he is really probably some sicko who just wants your daughter for the wrong reasons. what 16 (or over) year old guy wants to go out with an 11 year old girl, just because she looks older???
get her away from this creep NOW!!!!!

this question is coming from a 12 year old child just playing around. There are no mothers as far as i know who ever talk that way..First there shouldn't be even the words of boyfriend???secondly a Harley and a story about a father letting a 15 yr old drive???And talk about attitude what the heck take her over your knee that would be the attitude few slaps on the butt and to your room. It's called discipline. It's called a baby trying to get into an adult body if you let her.No wonder the world is crazy and there is war.

A 12 year old with a bf old enough to drive a motorcyle is too old! Also 12 is to young to be dating and chasing after a boy... are you crazy! You are the parent after all! Have a back bone and step in and put an end to this madness! Your neighbor should call CPS on you. A girl that age should be worried about school and hanging out with kids her age, not riding around with a older guy on a motorcyle.

First of how could you let your child date a 16 + year old? She is only 11 almost 12 not even in JR. High and this b/f is in High school. I agree with the answer that said you need to be a parent and not give into your childs attitude.
My answer no and I would also not allow her to see the b/f

My question is how are you letting an 11 year old date a 16 year old in the first place. The question should not be about the motorcycle it should be about how to keep her away from him. And what does a sixteen year old want with an 11 year old...I think your worries should be more about what is he doing with her that he shouldn't be!!!
