They say a line is a line. The dollar store test may not be as effective at detecting lower hcG quanities, though when I tested with both in late 2005, I found the Dollar General tests to show positive sooner than the e.p.t. did.

You very well may be. With my first son I also took an EPT test and the line was faint, and I was pregnant. So I would go to the doctor or buy a more reliable test then a dollar store brand.

you're probably in the early stages of pregnancy. when I had my pregnancy test done at a doctors office (urine test) the line was very faint for pregnant and I found out I was only 4 weeks pregnant!
I wouldn't trust a dollar store brand over an EPT test. Go to the doctor to be sure.

I had the same problem, I didnt know what to believe. But any sort of like line faint or not is a positive. And also the cheap one are not the best anyways. I ended up buying 3 different boxes to make sure. All were faint but I still was pregnant.. Congrats and good luck!

CONGRATS!!!!! Even a faint line is still a line...I would trust ept rather than a dollar store one....you should go to the doctor and get a blood test to confirm it! Also, you may want to take a hpt tomorrow morning and see how it comes out!!!!

Retest in 48 hours, but more than likely you are pregnant.

32. I've heard "a line is a line"-- any line is a positive. Is that true? Sort of. The adage that "a line is a line" is meant to emphasize that all positive results are equal; a darker line is not "more" pregnant than a lighter line. Some women are hesitant to trust a faint line, believing that a "real" positive "should" be darker. (This isn't true.) So, in this vein, yes, a line is a line. In other words, these are all examples of positive pregnancy tests: (picture at link)

A line is a line. You are pregnant. There are no false positives in pregnancy tests. The only reason even a faint line would show is if it did in fact detect the pregnancy hormone HCG.

The only way to be sure is to go to the doctors and have them run a blood test to check for antibodies in your blood which indicate if you are pregnant. The tests can be old especially the one from dollar store. Dont take a chance ,please go to the doctor to be safe.

If you want to know for sure you need a blood test done. The blood test will pick up the hcg levels stronger in the blood earlier than in a urine test. You can get a false positive with a urine test also, the blood test is what you need.

You are more than likely pregnant. Go to the doctor to make sure. A simple blood test will be able to tell you for sure.
