A famous example of seeing if people are positive or negative is asking them if a cup is half full or half empty. If someone says that the cup is half full they are said to be positive. But are they really. If you see a half empty cup in front of you, it is most common that you drank it. So if there is a bad drink, but you have to drink it, so you say its half full. Because its a bad drink. You don't want to drink it. So it looks like theres more then there really is. So, saying something is half full is actually negative depending on the drink. And most people use milk in the example so thats like saying if you like milk your negative.
