I'm 42 years old and have used Mary Kay for years - and don't like a bit my age (which sounds snobish, but everyone tells me that). It comes in a number of different shades, and blends well together for those 'in between' times - like spring into summer as you become more exposed to the sun and your face darkens a little (even thought I don't 'sit' in the sun, sometimes it happens).
I like the skincare and foundation so very much that I started selling it myself and found quite the business venture.
There are a lot of powder foundations out there, I just like the more fuller coverage that the liquid foundations give.

There are lots of good brands out there (MAC, Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc.). The key is to find one that matches your skin tone, and that's best done with help from a makeup professional. I recommend stopping by your MAC store and trying foundations with the help of one of the sales reps. They won't rush you, and you can try as many as you need to match your skin tone. It'll be a little pricey, but well worth the investment. Also, you can stretch your $$$ by adding just a touch to moisturizer to the foundation -- it'll also keep it from being cakey (or too heavy for summer wear). Good luck!

I think it depends on your skin color, type, etc. I use Almay blemish control, but I have worked with make-up artists who use Jane Iredale mineral make-up. I recommend that, if you can afford it, because it's good for any age, it lasts for up to 3 years (it doesn't harbor bacteria like other make-up), and you can even sleep with it on without worrying about breakouts.
