in my 8th grade year i am planning on applying to Georgetown Visitation, National Cathedral School, Sidwell Friends School, Benjamin Banneker Academic High School , and Holy Child. So that means that i have 2 summers left. ( trust me my grades are amazng i can get in.) What type of books should i read to get prepared over these next few summers? Should i begin learning a second languge, or wait? Also if you know of any other high schools i should apply to im happy to here about them. THANKS!!!

I suggest contacting the admissions director from some of these school and ask. It really depends on the school. I used to teach at an elite private school. They did not require language beforehand. As for books, I would suggest the classics. You may not really need them until you start, but it could help you to have that knowledge ahead of time.

Let the admissions director know how serious you are and they will tell you specifically which books.
