The thought of contact with my eyes is slightly revolting and frightening. Will I get over this? I have a pair of contacts but I can't put them on for fear that I won't be able to take them off.

maybe you should look up the facts about them and learn how to prevent infection or whatever you're worried about :o) I was afraid of sharks when I moved to hawaii but I learned a lot about them and even went in a shark cage and sharktagging for a college, so now that I know so much info about them I know how to be safe while swimming in the ocean... so my advice is learn everything you can about contacts and how to use them the right way :o) GL

We are all different, of course, and our phobias vary. I've been wearing contacts for over 30 years. I originally got them for help in martial arts. I couldn't wear regular glasses for a variety of reasons, and i really need the "correction".
I was amazed how much better they worked than regular glasses, generally. Everything was much clearer and crisper. Highest Recommendation. I never had any problems!! And taking them out/off becomes very easy after a few days. I say go for it!! :))

I know exactly what you're talking about!!! I just got contacts too because I love the idea of not having to wear glasses. The first time I wore them it was difficult to get them out. Actually, getting them out irritated my eyes because it took so long trying to get them out. Wet your eyes with those drops and it's easier to get them out.
I think we'll get used to it over time. I hate touching my eyes too but I think it's worth it.

you will definately get used to this... before i got contacts just the thought of even just putting on eyeliner or mascara made my eyes water... now contacts are no big deal and i absolutely love them... i wear them every day and never wear my glasses out in public... you will definately be able to get your contacts out of your eyes easily... i really hope this helps... just keep trying, it only gets easier.. good luck
