yes, absolutely it is the law of karma, although it wont necesarrily be immediate, neither will the person or ourselves make a direct connection to whatever it is that we have done that is now coming back on us,also the law of karma states that karma from past lives affects our lives now and our lives to come,so its important now to be conscious of our choices of our thoughts and what we create in this world,it may affect us for many lives to come.so spread love and joy and peacefulness.

It depends on how you measure it. Generally yes but not exactly how you expect it. You see, life is what you sow is what you reap. You can,t excape that fact. If you,re the type that do good things to people, you may suffer in some measure but you will equally found good being done to you too by others. If you,re bad, you may find success in some areas, but your bad eventually will catch up with you. So you see if you look at it from the short term, it is not true. But from the long term it is true.

I wish... I'm a good person, or at least try my best to be. I help my friends out when they're in a bad position, I comfort people, I do some volunteer work over the summer. However, I never get the respect and compassion back. =( Maybe it's just the horrible town I live in... everybody here is a rich, stuck-up snob.

You can't really prove that it's an actual truth. Yes, sometimes, the expression works and sometimes it doesn't in certain situations. It depends on the situation and the possible outcomes that come out of the situation.

Not necessarily.
If you're a horrible person who steps all over others, then those people will remember.
If they ever see a chance to hurt you, many of them will, as pay-back.
So, the more harm you do and enemies your make, the more people will be happy to help bring you down if they can.
But as some sort of woo-woo thing?
No. Sometimes horrible people prevail; and good people get all the bad breaks.
