Or is 'world's on fire' a hyperbole?

yes the sky is falling is a hyperbole since it's exaggerating the true circumstances....and the world's on fire could be either a metaphor or a hyperbole depending on the context....if you're referring to one small fire in a forest when that is said...then it's a hyperbole...but if you're referring to like a battle between two countries...then it's a metaphor...

Yes, the first one is a hyperbole, because it is an exaggeration.

And as for the second one, i would cal that a lie. heheheh. i think that might also be a hyperbole, but it being a metaphor is unlikely. A metaphor would be like "your eyes are a pool of blue" or "the wind softly played it's song on the branches of the trees" or something like that.
