I am looking for some solid examples of the advantages of a market economy/capitalist society, preferably in capitalist countries other than US. Thanks.

If you're looking for countries, just look at the Far East. Japan, S. Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong are great examples of how capitalism works.

If you're looking for an argument which counters the claims made about cultural imperialism and globalization, then look at India, Germany, Poland, or Brazil. Each of these countries have had great recoveries due to the opportunities presented to them following their troublesome periods. After India was released from British rule, entrepreneurs from withing and beyond its borders started privatizing its infrastructure and government assets in conjunction with the government. Today, it provides a tremendous amount of technical service and expertise in information and technologically based industries worldwide. Germany and Poland were both devastated following WW2 and didn't fare very well throughout the Cold War, but after the Marshall Plan was lifted and after the Soviets withdrew, both of the countries saw that they could take back control over the economies and did so with pride over private enterprise. Brazil has also done terrifically (although they aren't exactly in favor of the current Presidential administration) in how they've expanded from their traditional raw material and tourist industries towards services and fine goods.

If this isn't enough, challenge the fact that there is BARELY ANY empirical evidence which says economic prosperity is better off in countries which have not embraced in globalization. Russia, N. Korea, Iran, Belarus, and Haiti are all example of countries that haven't embraced globalization and none of these countries are better off because of it. Even China, which has only partially opened up, is better off today because of how it is integrating into the world economy and is engaging in the unprecedented freer flow of information and ideas.

The best support for capitalism is Socialism. Plenty of examples of that failure around the world, but for some reason, Liberals still want to bring it here.
