This is a lesson I learned just recently. A dear friend of mine pointed out to me that you just cannot go through life being a people pleaser.

yes i have had enough everyone tries to tell me what i should do with my life and how to raise my kids i have let them walk over me for a long time but i finally put my foot down and told them that i had to live my life to learn from my mistakes so now when they start to say something when i am around i tell them to be quite i dont want to hear it try talking to them first about it and if it dont help just get enough nerve up and stand up to them

Certain people, yes. Some people just can't be pleased and it will drive you insane trying to do so! You just got to know who these people are, leave them be, and please the ones that CAN be pleased and that appreciate it. Which is sadly most children and old people nowadays...both types almost never take things for granted and appreciate all the little things. Good luck :-) :-) :-)

Last week I was talking to a friend about this very thing...
Long story, lets us say I've been where you are. He takes my hands, turns the palms up and asks if I see any holes there.
"What?" I say.
"No holes," he says, "you aren't Jesus, stop trying to save everyone. Save you."

Yes i have, but now i at that age where i don't care what people think, i do what i want to do, and when i want to do it, if they don't like it they can kiss my buttons.

I am going to give up and say enough when I die...
