I know some girls who discovered that they were lesbians; I think that is okay, I don't see what's so wrong with it at all. They told me that their parents freaked out and grounded a few of them when they found out. I don't understand! What's so wrong with it? I am just wondering.....(rude answers will be ignored.)

I think they were just more hurt than mad. Didnt know what to do so they grounded them. Some parents have it set in there minds what there kids are going to be, and when it doesn't turn out like they wanted they feel overwhelmed. The kids didnt do anything wrong though to get grounded, the parents need to understand they can't treat there kids different because there gay. Or they will grow up wanting nothing to do with there parents. That would be a shame.

Her parents freaked out because they are not comfortable with the idea. Many conservative families, much like my own, aren't able to easily accept what they cannot understand and what they are not familiar with.
By grounding her they are just proving how they are not sure how to "deal" with what the feel is a problem.
I think our generation is much more open to the idea because it is a more open subject then it has been in the past, but many families, the reason why so many states voted on laws to "protect marriage" so that it would stay between heterosexuals, are not open to this change at the moment.

Usualy, parents fear 4 thier children because they have done ALL the stupid things that kids do today and they know the problems that can cause. As far as being gay, most people today think that it is a sin and an abomination. Check the bible on this. I hope U believe in the BIBLE.

i dont know why parents freak. they shouldnt it is what teaches the younger generation intolerance. but there is nothing we can really do about this since we cant tell parents how to raise their children. i also think parents are old and are not acostumed to this lez,bi, gay stuff being acceptable or normal. but future generation of parents might . its like technology, parents and older ppl have no idea about how to work new technology(unless its their job) but the kids do. so lets hope thats what happens.

hi, im a mother and I think I would freak out too... we as parents want the best for our kids... we want them to fall in love get married and have kids and be happy.. with a man... ur parents love you... they think ur going through a stage in life and just want u to get back on path... we parents also want our sons to fall in love get married and have kids.. with a woman..LOL... whats wrong with wanting the perfect life for our kids... I do wish you the best out of life and whatever choices u choose will make you happy... thats the main thing in life... just telling u what parents feel... not judging you or ur friends.... take care!

I don't know either what is wrong with that(I AM NOT A LESBIAN)but some parents want their daughter to be perfect...
