That dress is really cute, but going to a party where it's the last time you'll be spending before he goes to a party... It seems plain... and it seems like something that you could go casual in without the shoes or jewelery. Maybe should should go with something strapless and long like this:

Ooooh that dress is so pretty I want one too!!! I think if you have an hourglass shape it will flatter you without being too clingy. That is a lovely dress...sexy wihtout being over the top. You should get it!

It's cute but you could find something a lot more flattering.
I would get something from somewhere where you could actually try it on. It would suck to get it and then it not fit or look silly =/
