okay get rid of Mcafee - I haven't heard much trouble coming from Mcafee (norton is usually the worst) but AVG free edition is fine and won't slow down your pc. Next make sure everything is updated, you ran disk clean up, defragment. Next scan your computer for viruses with avg and i would also recommend you get spybot search and destroy for spyware, adware etc to make sure something like that isn't slowing your computer down. Next i would see which programs are always running and see if any might slow down your pc. Lastly run pc pitstop - they will tell you if there is something else wrong.

I went on sky 3 months ago and installed the free McAffee provided. What a slow and intrusive load of rubbish that was and to make it worse it was continually prompting the same upload time and time again, each time I complied.
Anyway, I got shut of it and bought a Zone alarm suite £34.. .....it does everything. I dont do anything at all

Yeah, I buy virus protection that is supposed to last for one year, and it only last for 4 or 5 months, it's sad when the companies who say they protect your computers are ripping you off, I geuss thats the way it goes, but it's wrong.

You never said what other protection you had first if it was Norton well they spend more time fighting with each other than they do looking for viruses
