ya know, the idea of a fella lifting the seat and then placing it back down is called manners. its just a gentlemanly thing to do.

Just a thought:
Why can't we men lift the seat up and put it back down. I do. Are you really so lazy you can't manage this? Besides that, women have to sit down on the seat EVERY TIME they use the restroom. Men only ONCE. It makes more sense to leave the seat down because it is most frequently used in this position. Besides that, what woman wants to accidently touch your p*ss when putting the toilet lid down? That's just gross. Be a gentleman and put the seat down. Also? Make sure you clean up after yourself.

Men and women both use the toilet seat in it's original positon, down. But then men need to lift it to pee, so they should be responsible to put it back down when they are done. Why make a woman have to touch a toilet seat when they don't need too?

A toilet has a lid, which should be closed when not in use. I have woke up lots of mornings and sat on a wet toilet seat, so Why can't men remember to raise the seat to pee? It's not hard.

It's not that we can't remember to put it up, we don't, because we women like to have our house look nice, that's why we decorate and seeing a TOILET SEAT UP, " yuk" looks gross or unfinished.
NOW YOU MEN KNOW WHY!
One more thing. I saw this plaque hung just behind the toilet, it said: STAND CLOSER, IT IS SHORTER THAN YOU THINK

Because the toilet looks bad that way. You guys should put it back down, otherwise we go to sit on it and fall in. LOL.

colleen you need to teach your guy to aim... sheesh. well first of all it's not our job. secondly it's your mess you do it. thirdly why don't you remeber to put it down... and besides it seems suspicious when a guy flushes the toilet and walks out of the bathroom and the toilet seat is up... weird huh? I know

I think because it should be closed, it is yuck to look at toilet water when you walk in a bathroom. Also if they are dirty - too gross. If you also believe in feung shui - it is bad energy to see in the toilet.... so maybe that is why? I also think because since we were young, we were taught to close it. Our of habit I think for most people...
