The subways and the streets names. Is it a city in America?

I am living in Chicago, many of the streets and the train stations in the movie looks to be in Chicago.
What about the subways?

Much of them were filmed in Sydney, Australia, but the car chase scene from the 2nd movie, the cavern dance scene in the 2nd movie, and the final scene between the oracle and the architect on the lakeside in the 3rd movie were filmed in Oakland, CA.

The Matrix Reloaded was filmed in Oakland and Alameda, CA. The car chase was filmed in the Alameda tube and the freeway chase was filmed on a freeway made on the Alameda Naval Base which is now closed, the freeway was specially made for the movie. Also, when Morpheus gave his speech, that also was in Alameda, I remember them asking for extras for that in the Newspaper.
I live in Oakland, CA.

Not sure about 1, but 2 & 3 were filmed in Sydney - I think 1 was too but not sure.
