US Military has accomplished the mission that was set at the beginning and that was whip the Iraqi's military, regime change at hang the Iraq president Saddam. The second part of the mission secure the oil, done. Third part of the mission liberation and set in place democracy, this is where we left the mission and started a new one. There were no WMD to be found, so Iraq became a civil duty and the responsibility of the USA, meaning you & me or us. Why well the USA invaded a country that posed no serious threat in other word just as illegal as when Iraq invaded Kuwait.

yes our leaders and military would be in trouble if we did not own the UN and if there were a country with the military power to stop us, that the issue that is being hidden. Sorry but they are responsible for every death that happened after they toppled President Saddam, you do realize that don't you. We live in a lawful world and the US & the Allies were a bit unlawful.

The goal in Iraq is to establish a democracy a foot hold in the middle east. This has never in centuries past been achieved. Their ideologies are completely different and will take centuries to change. The problem is we are not allowing our men and women to fight as warriors. We are playing the police game - hold the line game - don't shoot first game - and screw the men and women who fire first in our military courts. An enemy is to be vanquished and destroyed not pick and choose IE Al Sadr - who by the way has been captured once and released to kill Americans - who has been surrounded and allowed to leave with his Army armed unharmed to kill more Americans and is now wanted a third time. This is Politics at its best. We have created a Vietnam in Iraq and again we do not know how to # 1 leave and #2 actually win. What American non military do not understand is a Nation invaded will fight and go on fighting. This Nation we are fighting has been killing each other for Allah for centuries -and nothing changed during that time. Until the United States politicians understands the term warrior we will continue this ridiculous way of fighting.

Having been a former member of the U.S Army I began with Nixon and ended my tour with Reagan. As far as who desimated our Veterans during that time the dam Democrats and Jimmy Carter. It was Reagan who improved our Hospitals for those who failed to actually get their facts straight.

Neddie, I suspect you know the answer to your main question, the war was poorly planed, the aftermath wasn't even thought of and the country's Veterans hospitals have been raped by first Reagan and then the Bush's cutting funding. I believe in my heart that George Bush has an ulterior motive, he knew that if caused a problem in the mid east that the oil brokers would use it to raise the prices and thus the profits. He is an oil man, and his people are all in oil, it makes sense to me.

Because that is what Bush, as Commander in Chief, ordered.

And then he attacks Congress for using its constitutional authority (Article I Section 8) when they pass laws saying that only properly equipped and rested troops can be sent overseas.
