One sees countless inputs on the internet, few are well explained: usually the IT-related field hosts not very good communicators with good people skills. While patching into a inquiry on my home page, I saw this Yahoo Answers heads-up and dared to give it a try.
Some stuff on how to become part is over my head, or I simply distrust it. But here I saw that I can outflow to others and possibly help them with a new spin on the way of the worlds here, enemy country, and can call in, say, air strikes when someone gets caught out there with no back-up. Herewith, I can facilitate a means for someone to get out of harm's way.
As a writer, I enjoy varying from category to category, which is the way of writers -- they are by definition experiencers. So I saw that herein I can experience vicariously... that is, experience a thing minus having all the scrapes, strains, and bruises.
I enjoy giving to others: some really have genuine concerns that come right clearly through the e-page. Therefore, I do not put flippant things in my responses but instead offer genuine import. Yahoo Answers avails of this.

I like Yahoo email and front page so joined up and then noticed the answer section clicked on and now hard to give up.
I now need rehab for my addiction as I am doing it more and more each day.lol
Yes I have made some friends I have also got my two daughters to join as it can help with one of them in homework and the other just loves the make up section.
I travel around the site and just enjoy answering the questions if I can I tend not to time waste just for points.

My friend sent me a message to see if I knew the answer, (I didn't!) but got hooked anyway.
I can't believe how much time I spend on YA, but I always try to make sure the kids are in bed or they are playing within 'eye-shot' so I don't feel TOO guilty!
You ask about looking upon people here as friends? I think you're right, you can learn a lot about someone by the Q's and A's they give and you tend to 'look' for them before you go answering others!
P.S I watch Miami Ink too, and I'd love to go there! How'd you know??

I was using Yahoo to check up information on hair products when i saw a link to Y/A. Now I'm addicted. I'm not sure if I want to make friends here. I like the idea that I could ask personally questions on this site without fear that anyone knows me. Making friends here would just completely take that away from me and make me nervous about asking personal question.

I just stumbled upon it by accident and became hooked for a little while, Now I just dip in and out occasionally.
It is always evening when i come on here and I find that the questions vary greatly all the time. Sometimes there are loads of good questions and other nights it is just full of abusive idiots.

I had been sick at home for a few months, I was climbing the walls and loved to reach out and "talk" with others. I got better and had to go back to work again, so just checked at night but then I broke my foot and was back on it when I was home again! It is quiet addictive! I am on crutches still so I am home over the weekend, a nice way to pass the time without watching tv all day!

Last September I was checking my email and I noticed a link to this thing called Yahoo! answers. I registered and I forgot about it for a few months, then I returned out of curiosity. I'm now really quite addicted.

I seen through that Yahoo home page a question asked by Bono about what we could do to end world poverty. I told the self righteous preacher that him and his cronies should donate the royalies of one songe for a year and that should help.
And the rest, as they say, is history!
I drift from catogry to catogry so wouldn't class anyone as 'friends' but I have made a few enemies in my time!

Yeah I have some friends, I think this is a public forum where others that may not have ever heard your thoughts can hear you and where lots of different people read it. So that is what got me interested. I think I answered a question to begin with and it is yahoo which is what I have become accustumed too.
