I was at Starbucks not too long ago. There was a very long line and at the end of the line, but a little to the side, there stood a guy, with very long beard (down to midchest), dressed in jeans overalls and just generally looking scruffy and a bit weird. I walked past him and stepped in line. Then, when I turned back, and realized he was now in line behind me, I apologized and let him in front of me, saying I didn't know he was also waiting.
He said: "Don't worry about it, it happens to me all the time."
I felt absolutely terrible ! It made me feel like I was the most horrible person in the world.

Yes--way back when I first learned to drive, I was going down the road one day and this little squirrel ran out in front of me. I tried to miss him, but I couldn't. I felt the thump-thump when I hit him, and I instinctively looked in the rear view mirror only to see him wildly flailing about as if her were in terrible pain. I was devastated! That was over 20 years ago, and I still remember it.

Yes, I forwarded an email the other day to some of my customers that I forward to regularly. This one was a joke with sexual content, but nothing racy or extreme, and one I thought was a bit humorous. One customer emailed me back with - Oh my God!!! Take me off your mailing list!
I certainly did not expect to offend her, but I felt like I had gone and flashed her or something. Of course I sent an apology , and removed her from the list. I'm sure I will hear about it again.

He said okay but I lost my brother. I said I had heard and I was so sorry. He said I'm looking for my older brother Mike he's around here somewhere. I felt HORRIBLE

Oh no :-( Poor guy...

Once I was running late for work so I got up and ran out of the house, my boyfriend was trying to talk to me but I was in a hurry so I was just like "okay later I got to go!!!" (btw he doesn't live with me, he was just visiting for a week) and at lunch break I came home and he had this bunch of people over and that's when it hit me-- his birthday! The reason he came for the week! And I completely blew him off that morning when he was probably expecting a happy birthday from me...I felt horrible! :-(

Yeah, My mom bought me this bubble tea yesterday and it was like 5 bucks, but it made me sick and tsted discusting, i tried to drink all of it but i couldnt (the tapioca felt like i was chewing fish eyeballs) so i threw it away, my mom didnt care cause she thought it was nasty too, but i felt really bad and ungrateful because she bought it for me. Also some people dont even have food and i was lucky enough to have some and i just threw it away. I still feel really bbad about it. I know its not a big deal, but i just feel really ungreatful.

Awe I feel you, it is probably because we are sensitive-- or at least I am and I am guessing you probably are too.. Most people wouldn't think anything twice of the situation.. I probably would have felt so bad I would have offered to buy his drink. Poor guy, it's not your fault though.. Don't beat yourself up about it..
