They are a mix of people. They have Bedouin Arab ancestry mostly. They are not even from the region that is now called Palestine. They were put there because nobody knew what to do with them and their own so called Arab brothers didn't want to help them. The Brits put them there to give them their own place to live. They won't admit it, but some even have Semitic ancestry.
They have no tie to the Philistines of the Bible. That was an entirely different race and culture.
Before the religion of islam the arabs were pagan and some of them were Jewish.

Its probably a mixture.

Some were descendants of Jews that converted to Christianity and some latter Islam.

Others were members of the Greek and Roman empires that came to Israel.

Many are Arabs that came during the multiple Muslim conquests.

And I am sure their is some philistine ancestry in their as well.

Don't get it twisted though...who are the original so-called Jews? I notice these Jews claiming "Semitic", but can someone describe the complexion of Shem according to the Holy Bible? Is it not true that the Ashkenazi Jew is actually the descendants of Gomer, son of Japheth, son of Ham...so claimed "anti-Semitic" charges is a fraudulent and crime act...stealing someone else's history??? Just asking...

Before Christ and later Muhammad, there was only one religion that believed in one God, the Jewish. "The rest of humanity" were either pagans or atheists...

So if u are not Jewish, then your ancestors were part of "the rest of humanity"... just like the Palestinians.

According to The Old Testament, the Palestinians and the Jews were related through Abraham....when he had a son from his wife's servant....that’s a long story.

But what I’m quite sure of is that they were humans like they are now and like we all are...humanity is what counts.

Mostly they were arabs moved in by the Ottoman empire to keep the area in order. They were also previous groups Salucids ect who moved folks in.

Alot of similar stuff happened in egypt. The egyptians of old are represented only by the Copts. The vast majority moved in as invading muslims took over.

Similar to how invading europeans took the Americas over.
