George Washington wasn't the first president. He took office in 1789. The US declared Independence in 1776. The Articles of the Confederation allowed for one president to be elected each year. There were I think eleven before Washington.

George Washington president in the 1780's and 1790's

Abraham Lincoln, President in the 1860's.

Washington was dead before Lincoln was born.

THe person who said that Washington wasn't the first President was a moron.

First learn to spell then worry about history. Also, learn to write correctly and use grammer. Then ask a question which has an answer.
