Hats are not allowed in school for the some of the following reasons:

IF the hat is interferring with the education of the student, e.g. brim covers eyes, it represents a gang affiliation which creates a disruption, theft of the hat or horseplay with the hat causes a disruption, losing the hat, etc., reason wins out for the banning. Students need to learn that harmony and a productive milieu requires a certain amount of order."

1. It's too easy for a student to "hide" under the brim of his/her hat. If they tip their head down, you can't see their eyes, and conversely, they can't see YOURS, either, which usually means they're not paying attention. 2. It became a "contest" to see which kid could wear his/her hat in the most outlandish, attention-getting way! (Crooked, backwards, slanted, sideways, upside-down, inside-out, etc., etc. ad nauseum.) 3. Theft! Kids were constantly doing something to each other's hats. When I was an administrator, I can't tell you the countless HOURS I wasted dealing with "He stole my new hat" issues. I even had to put up with irate parents who would storm into my office demanding that the SCHOOL pay for their son's stolen hat! The general feeling among the staff is that they LOVE not having to deal with "hat issues" anymore. It leaves more time for actual INSTRUCTION!" -Jerry Taylor Technology Integration Teacher Greece (NY) School District

You can't wear hats cuz the security ppl cant catch ppl who have hats or hoods on as well wen they do bad things. Not that u would, but they don't take any chances. Hats and Bandannas also can symbolize a gang. My mom also says it has always been concidered impolite to wear hats at school.

It's considered disrespectful to wear hats in a public building, and some school faculty might call it "a distraction" because kids might tend to pull hats of others, steal them, and goof off with them (i.e, putting it over their face, or wearing it inside out because it might look funny)

Well my principal told me that it's a distraction towards classmates because other students could pull it off during class and etc. And that you could also conceal drugs in hats. Along with other reasons such as kids sharing hat's and possibly gettin lice.

Part of it might be security; part of it might be traditional etiquette. It's considered rude to wear a hat inside a building in most cases, including school.

It is mainly for health and security reasons. Also, in the "Real World," in some workplaces, hats aren't allowed. Schools are trying to prepare you for college, the workplace, and for life (They are trying to teach you more about life.). You know, there are some occasions/places/scenarios that have dress codes, some don't. This is what I am talking about.

Because it's disrespectful to the teacher.
