selectivity and location is very important for me. i really want to go to a competitive school in the city (urban setting a must) and study mass communications or business marketing - planning on a job in a PR firm

schools i'm considering:
- american university
- washington and lee
- northwestern university
- georgetown university
- new york university

the stats:
- cumulative gpa (weighted) of 3.8
- SAT scores: 800M, 760V, 710W
- SAT II scores: 790 Korean, 650 US History
- AP's: scored a 3 on US History
- PSAT's: 80M, 62V, 70W, 99th percentile still waiting to hear about semifinalist results
currently taking AP European History and AP Statistics, scheduled to take exams in May
- Extracurriculars: orchestra, interact club, student government, CBTV (a district cable channel), lacrosse team, national honor society, spanish honor society
- Other: worked as teacher's assistant (TA) at a local korean school on saturdays for a year, attended LeadAmerica, two previous jobs

oh and also taking a first year chinese course at local community college.

any other good schools with a mass communications (public relations/marketing) program?

You're pretty much set for American, Washington and Lee, and NYU. And as long as you have a really good essay, recommendations, and in the case of Georgetown with its required interview, also a really good interview, then you should be fine for NW and Gtown.

Well, I got into NYU on a scholarship with SAT scores 800V 790M 690W. However my GPA was number 2 in my class and I took a total of 7 AP classes over my junior and senior year. All the scores were 4s and 5s except for one 3. I'm assuming you're Korean, which makes it harder to get into any college, unfortunately. With your scores alone though, I would say your chances of getting into NYU are about 75% that you will.
