By maturity, Cleaner Shrimp normally reach lengths of about two and a half inches (five centimeters). They are mostly white, with two scarlet stripes running parallel to each other down the length of their body. In the middle, a white stripe ends at the tail, which is blotched with white, and fan-like in shape. Five pairs of legs run down the Cleaner Shrimp's body, and its long antennae are delicate and white. It is thought that these long antennae cause the shrimp to appear too large to eat to some potential predators.
