Twice my comptuer has been hacked from my daughter playing on Nintendo DS with her friends on Animal Crossing using friend codes. How do I stop this?

I have found that (it seems) with her DS and using the WEP key and giving out my daughters friend code has caused problems on my computer. When I unchecked the SSID, and changed my passwords things ran much better.

I noticed since the wep key, and friend code, and ssid was opened that I have other users on my computer besides myself.

There is no possible way that any DS playing could affect your computer. I'd very strongly suggest that you put virus protection software on your computer. It's probably more likely that your daughter is visiting web sites that she shouldn't and downloading things.

>.> It's not the ds rest assured. There is no way for someone to access your computer with her ds. They don't directly link. It's more likely you have an easy to guess WEP key, or your husband is going to...objectionable websites and dragging in all kinds of viruses. It's more likely the neighbors are just mooching though.

they wouldnt be hacking it I can tell you that...a DS doesnt have that sorta capabilities (well it does but your daughter wouldnt have that kinda knowledge and I doubt her friends would either) if you are using zone alarm or some other kind of software similar to that it could just be alerting you of the presence of the DS's own wireless network going through yours. You can rest easy as it takes a great ammount of technical knowledge to be able to use a DS to hack into a computer.

apparently your daughter has been giving out computer codes. how does she know? you have taught her. why would YOU want to spam your own computer. if she is doing it with out your help (which she's not), i would suggest a good talking to and ban her from her ds asap.
