I used to work at a vitamin store and they had multivitamins called "The Ultimate Woman", etc. multivitamins for women, and for men "The Ultimate Man". And I always wondered what would happen if a woman took the multivitamins for men and vice-versa. Would she/he get sick or would they after awhile of taking it begin to have hormone changes, such as would a woman grow facial hair, have her voice deepen, etc., if she took these multivitamins, and would a man get a higher-pitched voice, lose body/facial hair, etc. if he took these mutlivitamins for awhile? I am just curious.

It sounds like you are confusing vitamins with hormones.

It's really unlikely anything drastic would come from a woman taking men's vitamins, or vice versa.

There are some differences in typical dietary needs between men and women. Most significantly, women of menstruating age tend to have lower iron levels, so women's vitamins have a lot of iron in them. It's conceivable that a man taking a lot of women's vitamins could end up with an iron overdose, and that could make him sick. But mostly it's a marketing ploy.

There are no horomones in vitamines what so ever. Therefore nothing would happen.

There are very few differences between male and female multivitamines. Mostly just the amounts of some of the components.

Neither gender would get ill or experience any side effects from the others vitamines. It's mostly marketings anyway.

Not a thing will happen, why? Because it is a packaging label. Women just need more of some types of vitamins than men and vice versa but you will not have a sex change or start looking manly or womanly for taking a vitamin for either gender.

Nothing would happen. The vitamin and mineral requirements of males and females are very similar and if you look at the ingredients listed on the packaging you'll see that for all intents and purposes they're the same. More than anything it's a marketing ploy.

You have been duped by advertising. Vitamins are no better or worse for you. However some women need more of b12 then men. But nothing will harm you either way.

If it was only vitamins that was in the containers, it wouldn't have the effects you were concerned about.
