Government regulations are in the form of Sarbanes Oxley, which require auditors to report on internal controls preventing fraud, along with things like the EPA, etc.

A solution that is currnetly being attempted is this internal controls structure, which requires more self-monitoring on the part of the company.

You need to do research 1. SS and medicare are self funded programs, they do NOT use general fund revenue They are paid for by SS and medicare payroll taxs The problem being, the current payroll tax receipts, are not enough to pay for the current level of benefits. And it will get worse and worse, every single year out , from now on. When SS started there were 15 workers paying SS taxs for everyone getting SS Today there are 5 workers, in 20 years there will be only 3 workers paying. They can continue to pay benefits at current rates, because of the treasury bonds SS holds, they are already cashing those bons in to fund SS But those bonds will run out, by 2037, then SS will have revenue about 300 billion less each year than it receives in payroll tax's each year. The sooner something is done, the better 2. Corporate tax's People don't expect corporations to pay 35% of thier income in tax's each year If they actually did, there would be no corporations in the US left at all. The US has the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world US corporations could not compete, if they were paying a 35% real tax rate. 4. Most of those corporate loop holes werew passed by democratic majority congress's You need to remember, there has only been 8 years of a republican majority congress in the last 60 years !!!!!!!!!! Every other year, it was a democratic majority congress or a split congress, with the majority of 47 years, being a democratic majority congress.

Enforcement and empowerment of employees will help.

Especially if you can increase the payments to whistle blowers.
